Completing the Assignment

Pictures

Although it is possible to find pictures of similar animals to your pet, nothing beats pictures of your exact pet and nothing can show their exact personality as well. To accurately portray your pet on paper or canvas, it is necessary to have several clear pictures so that proportions, coloring, and attitudes can be determined. Clear, sharp, not too light or dark pictures work best and it is important that your pet be large enough in the picture to see details. Pictures can either be sent via e-mail, once a commission has been established, or photos can be sent to the artist. You'll be contacted if additional or better pictures are needed. Any physical pictures will be returned to you with the artwork when the project is done. It is very helpful to have written support materials that tell about the personality of your pet too.

Terms

After you have contacted the artist about doing a picture and have decided on the size and format of picture, you will need to send the artist pictures to use as reference. The time to complete the assignment will depend upon a variety of factors, including size, if there is color, and how complicated the composition is. The artist can give you a rough estimate of how long it will take. Upon completion of the work the artist will e-mail you a low-resolution scan of the completed work, whereupon you will send payment. Upon receipt of payment, the artist will ship the completed work along with any supplied support materials to you.
